Lake Dobbiaco exactly borders two Nature Parks: Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen Nature Reserve and Parco Naturale Fanes-Senes-Braies (Naturpark Fanes-Sennes-Prags). Originally formed from landslides, the lake level is now helped by humans. The Dolomites are part of the Southern Limestone Alps, in northern Italy, Europe.
