Drive through solidly-built Bunches Bald Tunnel (elevation 4925 feet) at Milepost 459.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, USA. South of Soco Gap, the Parkway traverses the Eastern Cherokee Reservation and ends in the town of Cherokee. The 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway was built 1935-1987 to aesthetically connect Shenandoah National Park (in Virginia) with Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina.
