Berner Oberland Bahn (BOB) enters Lauterbrunnen Valley on narrow-gauge railway tracks in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, the Alps, Europe. BOB serves Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, and Grindelwald via a "Y" junction at Zweilütschinen. At Wilderswil, BOB extends 7 km on Schynige Platte Railway. The trains are assisted in steep sections by rack and pinion (cog wheel drive). UNESCO lists “Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch” as a World Heritage Area (2001, 2007).
