Painting of the traditional Swiss autumn cattle parade (by Alb. Reuteler in 1925) , a festive descent from alpine pastures. In this living tradition, cows are adorned with flowers and bells ring festively as the farmers walk alongside in their finest traditional costumes. Appenzell Museum, which is in the town hall, shows a cross section of the Swiss Canton's history and culture.
