The Cristallo Group reflects in Lago di Landro (Dürrensee) is in Val di Landro/Höhlensteintal (in the watershed of Val Pusteria/Pustertal), in Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen Nature Reserve, in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (South Tyrol) region of Italy. Cristallo is largely formed from the Upper Triassic dolomitic rock Dolomia principale. Cristallo mountain group was formed during Cretaceous, as were the Dolomites in general, due to the collision between the African and European continents.
