Bicycle campers, Walther Square, Assumption of Our Lady Cathedral, Bolzano, Dolomites, South Tyrol, Italy, Europe.
Bicycle campers walk by the medieval church in the main square of Bolzano, Walther Square, in the Dolomites, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (South Tyrol) region of Italy, Europe. Bolzano's Assumption of Our Lady Cathedral was started in 1184 in Romanesque style and expanded by 1382 using Gothic architecture. The steeple was completed in 1517. An 1889 monument in the center of Walther Square honors Walther von der Vogelweide, a great poet and bard who lived circa 1168-1228. Bolzano is the biggest city in South Tyrol, which is an autonomous province with a special statute which preserves the rights of the German-speaking minority in Italy. Bolzano has been voted as one of the most liveable of 100+ Italian cities. I'm not surprised, as several pedestrian-only streets downtown had a wonderfully vibrant ambiance (once you park and get out of the stressful spaghetti of auto traffic).Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
