Ice Age glaciers deeply gouged a U-shaped valley into a plateau of Precambrian gneiss, carving this cliff high over the North Sea inlet of Lysefjord. Hike 7.6 kilometers (4.8 miles) round trip to one of the most visited natural tourist attractions in Norway. The well marked route requires strong ankles for rock-hopping.
